i love roller coasters. i love watching shows on TLC and Discovery about roller coasters and theme parks and all that jazz. so, imagine my surprise when i headed over to kymmie's website and read about a theme park in colorado that i'd never heard of! it looks pretty neat, too, quite a lot of rides. and i know there have been times when i've mentioned Cedar Point (America's Roller Coast) and ppl just look at me like, "where?" then my eyes get all shiny & my voice fades to near reverence as i explain that it's the largest roller coaster park ever and it's on a peninsula and it's beautiful and i wanna go back. even if i couldn't ride most of the rides anymore, just to be there, by Lake Erie, ohhhh... yes. : )
speaking of trips, tho, i think i am going to work very hard to get to NM in october to visit my cousin kathy & her family. i've been looking at photos of that area of the country and really getting excited by God's creations out there!! plus, i miss kathy & her people! : ) i did a little prelimenary checking on airfare, and found some flights for like $300. but then other flights on the same site for the same trip were over $1000 - so i'm really confused! *laugh* i have to do more research. it's been soooooo long since i've planned a trip that involves an airplane, i'm a little rusty, i think.
today was just a loafy day. the rain & storms came in the morning, so no zoo. which was probably for the best, as my tummy has felt off all day! : ( i THINK it's from all the contortions yesterday while playing. if that's the case - worth it! *laugh* if that's not the case, then grrr cuz i hate pain! but, so, i just spent the day watching royal pains, burn notice, and a whole lotta A-Team! wonderful show, and i really was excited for the movie until i read mr t's comments about it. *sigh* anyway, i'll stick w/ the original for now. : )
something else i watched today was disturbing, tho. last night's nightline did a snippet on 3 men (from russia, from england, and from phillipeans) claiming to be the second coming of Christ. literally, claiming to be Jesus. *boggle* or, that was the tag line. one's a former spook, one's an evangelist, and i don't remember what the other one was prior to getting "filled with the spirit of Jesus." and not in a good way. i just don't understand what would make seemingly sane ppl do that? i mean, the former evangelist might be doing it out of greed - he's built an empire on the backs of his followers.
the other option is that these men are possessed, or are being mislead themselves by evil spirits. the british dude isn't believed by anyone & lives in a camp/junkyard. and i think the russian guy lives in the woods. but he looks like the traditional image of Jesus, and he has a lot of followers, too. have these ppl cracked a Bible? did they grow up in church? or are they looking for a non-church option? even a non-church option, tho, is a far cry from following false prophets! it's so sad, all these ppl being blinded to the truth.
a friend & i did have a really great discussion today after talking about the programme, tho, about how churches can mess you up or lift you up, and that ppl are desperate for something to believe in. i just wish that desperation could parlay into a true love of the true Lord!
i think i need sleep. praise the Lord for HIS mercy and HIS healing and HIS love! : ) goodnight & ttfn!
