what day is it?

okay, it's totally wednesday, but alllll day long i had to remind myself of that, because i kept thinking it was thursday!  now tomorrow IS thursday, so hopefully i'll not feel like i'm living in groundhog's day...

it was crushingly busy today!  there is this thing i like to do at work, it's something i'm good at (usually) and that i enjoy.  it's called customer service.  sometimes circumstances make customer service difficult, however!  thankfully nothing bad today.  no yelling or unhappy people.  heh.  lots of different areas to work in today, too.  normally, the way i work is to concentrate on one thing at a time & get it done & then move on to the next thing.  this seems logical, yes?  however, the most fun days (and the busiest!) are when i'm working on thing 1 when i get an email/phone call/etc., for thing 2, then i'm working on that when thing 3 happens.  i resolve thing 3 and begin working on thing 1 again, only to remember thing 2.  suddenly, thing 4 appears!  i work on thing 4, then it's time for lunch, so i leave thing 4 in the middle.

btw, at lunch, i spilled nearly my entire bowl of soup (red potato cheddar w/ lots of oyster crackers)!!  thankfully brenda & pablo stepped in & helped me clean up, and i did NOT spill it on myself or trish, who was sitting in the direction i knocked the soup... LOL  also, it was brenda's birthday, so she brought in some crapi (crapy? how do you spell that?) for all of us.  YUMMY!  i was on a fish kick, too, today, cuz that's what i fixed for dinner again tonight.  heh.

okay, so i was in the middle of thing 4 when i left for lunch.  i come back to some emails needing attention - we won't quite call these thing 5, but they did distract me from thing 4.  so much so, that when i finished with them, i went back to thing 2 & finally got that done.  thing 1 was still hanging out.  *laugh*  but i did get everything done before i left tonight, so PTL for that!  : )  the thing of it was that thing 1 and thing 4 took me nearly all day to complete not only because of the other things going on, but because they were just craziness to get done!  like, i'd already done thing 1 last month but the info i'd been given was incorrect, so i had to fix it.  no worries, just time consuming.  : )

tonight i got to watch GLEEEEEE.  love love love!  also watched V (oh my goodness and an observation i posted to FB - let's eat a mouse (or toni's suggestion of a hamster would work) already, ppl!  that's one of my favorite memories from the old series.  pay homage!!  LOL) and a couple episodes of GH from last week.  then i turned to Pandora.  rah!  idk how they do it, but more often than not they know just what kinda music i am in the mood for on a given day!  except for that one day they kept playing weird new agey music that i think they thought was like yanni, but it was NOTHING like yanni and i was really annoyed because you can only skip 5 songs an hour and they kept throwing crap at me!!!  darn monkeys.  LOL  (you know, because monkeys throw poo... okay... moving on!)

(as i type, T'Pau Heart & Soul comes on & i nearly fell outta my chair happy dancing!!!!!  that & toy soldiers by martika remind me of a book i loved when i was little, called Heart & Soul which was about this girl named star who was the daughter of a famous rock & roller & life was just SO difficult trying to be normal & hide that she was his daughter.  *laugh*  not to be confused with the Hart & Soul series that ended way too soon - it was like SMK for teens - amanda & mick...

i'm gonna hafta pull those out & reread soon, except it makes me sad that it ended so abruptly...!)

/sidebar!

whew, there i go on about books again!  anyway, hope you're doing well and that you're pulling out some books to read!  : )  i can not WAIT for my end of the month vacation.  i'm already planning to delve into L.J. Smith's Nightworld... and the Percy Jackson books if i can remember to go to borders & get them!  ; )

goodnight, my bloggy buddies!  i leave you w/ this cuuuuute picture of leyton from october 9th that i just love.  ttfn!!

  1. LOL at all your "things"! So funny (and so true).

I LOVED Toy Soldiers too. Martika looked just like my cousin Amy - I was almost certain Amy had some secret life that I wasn't allowed to know about.

It's so fun to go back and reread the books you were obsessed with in junior/high school...VC Andrews was one of my favorites and I think I still have some of those laying around here someplace...maybe I'll hunt them down!

  2. Oh, thank you! VC Andrews was one of mine, too!! That woman had some serious, SERIOUS issues. But she could make you feel. Of course, then after she passed her family got greedy & tried to continue her franchise & the books just kinda fell flat. Give me Flowers In The Attic! Poor Cathy & Chris & Corey & Carrie! (OMH, I think I actually got their names right...) I think I'll join you in hunting those down!
