strawberries, salad, and rejuvination

PTL!  God is good, all the time, can i get an amen?  : ) 

today was exactly the day that i needed.  i stayed up tooooo late last night, so didn't get as much sleep as i'd wanted, but i did wake up in time to get to hardee's for breakfast before work.  : )  and it was nice & quiet  & i got a good number of follow ups completed.  well, okay, i got an average number of follow ups completed, but that's still good!!  heh. 

i went to WM after work, and REMEMBERED to bring in my canvas bag, theoretically for everything to fit into.  of course, this is WM, so ... i did stay w/in my budget this time, tho, AND i think i finally found a new bra.  *laugh*  i got lottttts of produce, which fit into the canvas bag, which was good.  oh, and i saw louise!  we chatted for awhile - i was truly blessed when i worked there to work w/ some awesome peeps!  and to be remembered, 10 years later, by those people really makes my day every time i go in to either store.  i ended up w/ 5 other bags, but i'm good with all my purchases.  (as in, no buyer's regret creeping up!  whew!)

i came home and made this:

it was sooooo good!  if i'd done anything spectacular with it, i'd put it in the food blog.  but it's just a random salad - spring mix for greens, green pepper, cucumber, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews, bacon bits, bacon & onion croutons, snap peas, sharp cheddar, and ranch dressing.  my avacados weren't ripe yet, so they didn't make it into this one.  maybe tomorrow, but they might not be ready til later in the week!  anyway, that was lunch and it was way yummy!  : ) 

i watched kitchen nightmares and then headed to sonic (where i got a cherry limeade, and introduced to Princessa.  isn't that a pretty name?!) and mom's.  leyton was in a pretty good mood, and we had a BLAST!!!  he was still having whining moments, but was pretty easily distracted out of them.  we played with his sand/water table... which mom had outfitted with rice since it's currently indoors. 

we played outside - taught some lessons on looking both ways before going into the street.  i really hope mom & phil are teaching him about that, too, it's sooooo important!  it's not a busy street by any means, it's quite like the street i lived on when i was little, and we always played kickball or tag or whatever in the street.  but we were aware of cars.  i just want to make sure leyton is aware of them, too, so that we don't have any accidents!!!  so, we played soccer & basketball & took a walk & leyton was mr. social butterfly & chatted up the neighbors.  heh.  : ) 

we came inside a couple of times for water & to have a little nap on the couch.  i made waffles & cut up an apple for dinner, w/ juicy juice boxes to drink.  leyton had said he wasn't hungry, and just wanted the apple, but he ate both his waffles & part of mine!  i knew he had to be hungry, but he wanted to get back outside to play!  *laugh*  we did for a little bit & then when it got too buggy for aunt carrie, we came in & laid on the couch & watched Thomas.  and i read my People.  : ) 

we had ice cream and crackers & cheese for snack & then back on the couch til gramma got home.  she said the wedding & reception were beautiful and she had a wonderful time.  yay!  she needed some time out, ya know?! 

and i needed exactly today.  phil was home briefly, so i got a couple hugs outta him.  : )  and when i got home, i was able to chat with a couple friends, which was nice.  bret wanted to go to a movie tomorrow, but it's not going to work out, so hopefully Ironman2 is in our futures next weekend!!  i am stoked to see it!

oh, yes, the strawberries - well, another produce purchase today, along with shortcake and whipped cream.  i made myself a little strawberry shortcake (i know, i'd already had crackers & cheese, but i couldn't resist!) a few minutes ago, and it was scrumptious!
