what a beautiful, blessed day! i got up at 8-ish & had a waffle & piece of toast because i was feeling peckish. did some laundry and a load of dishes.
then i went back to bed. : ) and slept til 11:30! i had interesting dreams of friends and family and buildings from the past. do i remember the details? not a bit. just a general feeling of "good dreams."
bret woke me up at 11:30 w/ mom on the phone, so i got up & read some People while bret watched Lost on the puter. mom picked us up a little after 1 & we went to the movies. popcorn, coke zero, and TRON: LEGACY. i was there for one reason, and one reason only - the 10 minutes of Bruce Boxleitner. : ) and he was actually in it a little more than 10 minutes, so i was happy! AND, as a bonus - the movie was actually pretty good! i'd seen good and bad reviews, so i wasn't sure how it was gonna go. i liked it, tho. : )
so far this is a pretty nice day, right? i mean, not really adventurous, tho, right? *laugh*
wait for it...
bret's family christmas is at his aunt (my cousin) dawn's, at 7, so his mom was picking him up around 6. we dropped him at home & then mom & i headed out to applebee's for dinner & WM for last minute taco dip ingredients.
we got stuck on the hill going out of my park. d'oh! only for 11 minutes, and mom did WAY better than the last time we were stuck. she was patient, and we made it up the hill. then to applebee's w/o incident.
til we got to the parking lot, and got stuck again!
some nice waiters came out & helped push us into a parking spot.

we were very happy to get our dinner! i'll tell you all about it, here. : ) our waitress was also very nice, and kept me supplied w/ diet pepsi - even a to go cup at the end!
we did not get stuck on the way to WM, thankfully. and while we were in WM, we saw bret, misha & shawna! heh. and also anna, who works there - hugs all around! i picked up some really great movies - transformers 2, star trek & sherlock holmes! yay!!!! i was gonna watch star trek when i got home, but instead have been watching Human Target, Castle & Psych. : ) *heart*
and i was fully prepared to buy all those movies, and the milk & eggnog i got also, but mom very kindly purchased them for me. happy christmas again!
we did not get stuck on the way home from WM.
mom did get stuck on her way home! :( but some ppl helped her & she made it home safely...
... to discover her purse was missing!
have you ever lost your purse/wallet? it's a horrible feeling, in the pit of your stomach. especially if you've just been to the bank/given gift cards/put a new book in there. and you look everywhere, retrace your steps. your mind plays tricks on you... mom called & said her purse was gone. panic. panic. prayer. PRAYER. God told me to ask about the cart at WM, because i almost grabbed her purse when i took my stuff in to the car, but i didn't. she thought she'd taken everything out of the cart, and asked me to look down my street... i told her to call WM & i'd walk down the road.
no purse on the road (but as a side note, i walked down & back & didn't even get winded! hey hey!). i called to let her know, and she had just gotten off the phone w/ WM- her purse was there, someone turned it in or they found it when they brought the carts in.
GOD IS GOOD!!!
And He is who we celebrate this time of year...
