Postcardapalooza III

today was a good day!  altho my email box was crazy w/ more timecard things, and even tho i did them friday before i left, my vacations were out of control... but i whipped everything into shape, so that was good!  LOL  and i was only there til 6... ; )  


my mailbox was full of happy mail tonight!  a beautiful letter from micaela (thank you!) on way cute stationery!

also making me happy tonight - finally catching up on some more blogs and watching lots of Walker.  : )  currently watching an episode at a medieval times, guest starrrrring none other than Josh Holloway from Lost!  mmmm!  an earlier episode had mercedes mcnab as a guest, and i just love her!  she was harmony on buffy/angel, and was hilarious - especially when harm was a vamp.  she's got good drama chops, too.  


not making me happy?  tornadoes.  BLECH!  please join me in keeping those in joplin, mo, in prayer, and also continuing to pray for the victims of the southern storms.

did you know?

that there's a whole group theorizing that the new madrid fault is set to rumble??  i was completely unaware of this theory until today.  and i can't decide - from everything i've been reading - if it's crazy conspiracy stuff or really something that's on the way...


either way, tho, it got me to thinking about getting the old Emergency Bag going again!  i think i need to do it on a much grander scale now, tho, because i would want to make sure i had enough for mom and leyton, phil & anthony & jen if necessary.  and angel, of course.  would have to make sure to add in water & food for her.  i didn't just start thinking about it because of that article, tho - the starting of the lists was put into my head when i read those disaster books a few months ago, remember?  food & water,  clothes, of course.  batteries & flash lights, blankets, umbrella... these spring to mind immediately for everyone, i think.  some things i might've forgotten about, or not thought of needing a few months' supply anyway - medicine, feminine products, TP, pens & paper... i'm pretty good about packing things, from all my travel.  but there are still things that when i see them on other ppl's lists, i'm all like "ohhhh!  right, that would be helpful!"  heh.  


my problem w/ things that i use all the time (TP, FP, meds) is that it's hard to keep an "extra" supply, ya know?  and things like bottled water - i don't drink bottled water, and idk how long it lasts?  so how do i buy it for "emergencies" when it could expire?  and how does water expire?  it's water!  


anywhoo!  something to work on, i guess.  along w/ getting my house organized and decorated.  so many things i want to do, so little energy to DO them!  


i spend my energy on playing w/ leyton!  : )  and it's so worth it!  tonight i met him & mom at CFA for some nummy food & an easter egg hunt & of course the cow.  : )  leyton took a nap on the car ride over, and he wasn't really in the best mood when he got up, so i don't really have any pictures!  i know, is a shocker!  i did take some w/ my phone, but haven't sent them to myself yet.  LOL  we had fun anyway.  


and tomorrow will be super fun!!  i hardboiled some eggs when i got home tonight, and other than the problem that is i want to eat them all, things turned out okay!  hopefully i will resist the urge to eat them all before we get a chance to decorate them.  heeeheee!  while at WM buying the eggs, i also picked up $20 worth of canned food, PB & ramen for a food drive we're having at work.  most of the time i don't have the money to donate or i forget about it.  


this month, tho, is about sacrifice.  tomorrow is the day we remember Christ's sacrifice for us.  and sunday is the day we remember HE IS RISEN!  : )  i am so grateful to my Savior, Creator, Healer, Friend... and in honor of His sacrifice, i've chosen to step outside of my box a little bit & donate some goods!  i'm sure i could donate more... 


for instance... had i not bought my Renegade dvd's and instead donated that money.  but, i did, so i'm going to enjoy reno raines!  and one of these days i'm going to find lorenzo's other series on dvd & have an Immortal marathon.  oh yes, i'd forgotten all about that show til just now!  i can't believe that one only lasted one season, tho - seems like i watched more episodes... lol  probably merged my memories of that show w/ Highlander... hmmm.


i'm a little all over the place tonight, right?  still haven't heard from bret.  :(  but i talked w/ misha & that was nice anyway!  


what else?   i don't know!  i had many thoughts in my head, but as the night wears on, and i get distracted by shiny things... yeah.  *laugh*  well, disc 1 of renegade is over, it's 1 am, and i think that's my cue to go to bed!!  : )  thankfully, tomorrow is also about SLEEPING IN!  whenever i get up, i will get my Easter packages packed & watch more Renegade or Buck or Celeb Apprentice & Survivor if my computer cooperates...!  : )  then picking up leytonbug & RIO!

fade to black

my computer was frustrating me heartily today!  i was trying to catch up on army wives, and the computer did its random shut off trick every 10 minutes.  sometimes it'd be longer, but ... watching two episodes should have taken less than 2 hours & instead took more than 3!!  *sigh*  and i looked up having the geek squad look it over - $300!!!  dude!  so i put out feelers to my FB peeps, and am putting them out here, as well.  if you have any ideas, please let me know!  


after i finally made it through the 2 eps of AW, i gave up on watching anything online & decided to finish off season 6 of walker (i'm on the last disc as i type).  one of the episodes was dedicated to nick corea, who was a writer.  the name sounded really familiar, so i googled him.  found he wrote for renegade, too.  looked up renegade on amazon, and then from there saw that the complete series of STREET HAWK is available on dvd!!!!  *bounce*  did anyone else watch street hawk?  or renegade?  


after grocery shopping yesterday, i made myself three meals today, that i'm pretty happy about.  : )  


i wrote some letters, which is always a good time!  such a blessing to have friends send me letters, and i love sending letters back!  or just randomly.  whatever.  : )  


also good about today, i was blessed w/ a mostly pain-free day, PTL!!!!  praying the trend will continue into the night and tomorrow...!  we also had some nice God-made fireworks, but sadly i didn't get very good pictures!

meh, you can tell a little that there was a good light show going on, right?  lol

just another manic monday...

aye!  busy, busy day!  bret took his car to work, so i dropped off some mail & got a breakfast sammich & a soda on my way to work.  diet pepper...mmm...


my day was spent solving crime & ... oh, wait... what's my cover job again?  oh, yes, solving issues, and working on claims.  ; )  really not a lot went on today, other than a really LONG phone call w/ a customer who spent 1/2 the call complaining about our health insurance company!  they were realllllly unhappy, and i can't blame them after what they've been through, but... i couldn't really help w/ anything concerning the health insurance company, either!  i was just quite happy they weren't upset w/ ME!  heh.


i'd planned to stay til 6 to get all the bookings vacations done, but remembered i had to get groceries, so i just prepped everything & left at 5:15.  went to walgreens (because after not having a cigarette nearly all day yesterday, i finally picked up a pack this morning - and then realized i'd left my lighter on the desk!  d'oh!!!) & then hy vee.  $100 and 1/2 an hour later... lol  i finally headed home!  


made grilled cheese & tomato soup for me & bret, and i have to say that i make a really good grilled cheese!  i never used to... lol  oh, i added PB to mine, so i really had a grilled PB & cheese sammich w/ tomato soup.  and it was YUMMY!  : )  tomorrow i may try grilled PB & banana... 


bret borrowed my car to go to men's Bible study, so i watched some Walker & then a really awesome episode of The Good Wife.  that show is so awesome!!  


now, sleep is seriously calling my name!  i'll leave you w/ three postcrossings - two from china and one from taiwan.  i like them all a lot!

Good Monday!

postponed chloe's oil change & window repair.  when i woke up at 7, it was all rainy & all i wanted to do was sleep.  so i called tony & went back to bed!  : )  had a very niiiiiice sleep, too!  til i was awakened by a dream that someone was tapping on my window - it was 10-ish & phil was knocking at the door.  he very kindly spent an hour or so fixing the innards of my toilet.  goooood brother!  : ) 

i tried the free sample shampoo from pantene this morning.  it was a very pleasant shampoo experience!  we'll see how it holds up upon regular use, but so far i'm giving it a thumbs up. 

i left around 11:30 & headed to the post office to pick up stamps.  got a roll of state flags, which are pretty neat!  also got my standard international stamps.  i meant to get a book of forever stamps, also, but forgot.  whoops!  ah well, i mailed off all my bills & letters & such went to hardee's for eats & headed in to work.  it was a pretty quick 4 hours.  : )  tons of email to sift through, which is always fun!  nothing too noteworthy, tho, just normal timecard & vacation stuff!  i actually was able to answer a lot of the timecard questions, only had to send a couple to dave!  woot!

there was a tornado warning as i left, but it was only in effect for 15 minutes more, and the skies didn't look bad.  and it wasn't storming, but i guess south east of us it was!  just so's the tornadoes stay away from me, it's good.  (really, i would like them to stay away from ppl completely.  there were some doozies in oklahoma recently & ppl were injured and killed!)

went to chick fil a for a grilled chicken sammich & some fruit.  mmmmm.  and 10% of all evening orders went to a local family... you know, i don't even know for what, but a friend of amy's mentioned it on fb last night & i'm always up for helping ppl while doing something i love!  i got to phil's about 6 & hung out w/ him & leyton for a couple hours.  amy joined us, too, and it was nice to meet her in person since we've been fb chatting lately!  : )  we had loooooots of fun!  leyton had a john cena punching bag ...

he also had some fun with anthony's video game chair (really, what happened to sitting on the floor or the couch?  we need a chair w/ special speakers to play video games now??), a really shiny watergun and most of all, his daddy.  : ) 

oh yeah, and this shellshocker thing anthony got one christmas.  it's LOUD but so much fun!

when i left i got many hugs & kisses & some secrets and i hated to leave but knew i had to!  stopped at kwik shop for a 50 cent fountain soda (happy 50th anniversary, kwik shop!) and came home to some fabulous post cards, People, Walker, and some blogs.

all in all, a very happy day and night!  tomorrow i get to visit dr lensing in her blackmail for medication.  (i won't even go there, but it irritates me.)  tomorrow is also my cousin mandi's birthday (happy birthday, manda jo!!!).  and that's about it for me today!  heh.
