How Glee Got Me Back

so, y'all know how i've been a little off glee lately, right?  the music was still making me happy, but the sue storylines among others were just making me throw up my hands & not even want to watch.  due to the way fox shows play on hulu (they go to the pay part of hulu right away, but the free part doesn't get them for 8 days after they air - i'm just grateful to get to watch TV for free, ya know?), i usually end up forgetting about the show for just long enough that there are 2 or 3 episodes built up for me to watch.  heh.  


anyway, tonight i watched 2 episodes, and they pulled me back in.  what i liked about these episodes (aside from the music, which for me is a given) - the characters seemed much more themselves.  sue wasn't randomly attacking the glee club or will.  (she was being typical sue, but going after kurt's dad as part of her campaign, so w/ a REASON, and it didn't make my skin crawl like her going after the glee club does now.  because, her character should be over that by now.)  when sue's campaign tactics inadvertently hurt santana, she showed genuine remorse.  and oh my heck, when finn gets the glee club together to help santana... tears.  TEARS.  and then again when rachel stuffed the ballot box.  and when santana came out to her abuela... UGH.  


i have such a heart for kids - for anyone, really, kids or adults - who come out to their families.  society pushes them so hard, telling them it's okay & everyone should be okay with it, when the fact of the matter is that it's just NOT okay to everyone.  now, without going round & round about my feelings on homosexuality i will just say this - i don't know with 100% surety what God feels about it, but i do know w/ 100% surety that He wants everyone to be treated w/ love and kindness.  and i do NOT understand how anyone can love someone one minute & completely shut them out the next just from learning one thing about them.  


idk, anyway!  


so after catching up w/ glee, i watched some GH & some OLTL - erin called this afternoon to make sure i would watch GH (i've been slacking a bit).  she filled me in on the robin storyline.  oh. my. heck. seriously, GH writers?  SERIOUSLY?  if they don't figure out a way out of this one, i might just jump ship.  i really don't want to, but if they really kill robin off... it might be unforgivable.  and speaking of unforgivable storylines - todd on OLTL?  was anyone else rooting for him to NOT be evil when he came back?  *sigh*  and i would really like rex & gigi to be together & HAPPY already!  maybe it's cuz i know they are together in real life, but i just want to see them happy on the show!!  


what else?  today was pretty fun!  got to chat w/ my latest crush a bit, altho not enough.  i kinda wanted to just spend the day chatting rather than working, so i had to pull myself away.  so hard to do!  it's been awhile since i've had a GOOD crushing opportunity.  LOL  and yes, it really is just a fun little thing, and when he's gone i'll be sad but not devastated.  it'd be fun to keep in touch, tho... *grin*  *laugh*  


tomorrow i have lots to do, so it'll be uber busy as usual.  *laugh*  then after work i need to get some christmas stuff picked up & THEN it'll be time to hang out w/ trish & watch the last survivor before the finale!  : )  woot!  thursday is leyton's program, friday i have two work christmas parties, saturday i'm hoping to finish up the christmas shopping, and sunday is brunch w/ trish, amy & marcie.  


wow, the rest of the week is BUSY!  glad i had to night to relax.  *laugh*

attack of the balloons!

the workday was LOOOOONG!  it was good, because i was able to get a lot accomplished, tho.  : )  oh, AND it was deli bar at lunch.  : )  it was also my friend marcie's last day of work before she goes on vacation to retirement.  her party was a lot of fun!!  they showed a really cute video that she had been in several years ago for her dept.  very creative, and a lot of ppl at the party were in it, and they'd forgotten all about it.  i had tears of laughter, as did many others.  : )  i also got to chat w/ some ppl i hadn't seen in awhile at the party, so that made me happy!  


after work, i met mom & leyton at her house & we went to jungle bungle for the zoo event.  

SO MUCH FUN!  : )  they had a bouncy house, and a few animals outside.  nothing to pet, sadly.  but there was a GORGEOUS owl, cute porcupine, and a very handsome python.  :)  sadly, i didn't get very good pictures, but here's what i have!  

back inside, we ordered a 1/2 sausage, 1/2 pepperoni & also got some of the new JoeGurt - happy joe's frozen yogurt.  they have snickerdoodle flavor!  so good!!  and there was a very cute guy working there who kindly didn't charge me for my froyo.  i tried a bit of the strawberry, tahitian vanilla, and of course snickerdoodle - which was the best!  i liked all 3, tho - not overly sweet or fake tasting, the snickerdoodle tasted just like a cookie.  i didn't get a shot of the AWESOME wall of froyo, but leyton did take one... 

i guess i do have one of leyton getting his dessert... 

that was is just so neat!  oooh, and the cute dude who gave me the froyo is there.  too bad he's not clearer!  

after we ate, mom took leyton down to the jungle bungle part, where there was face painting & car riding & idk what games they played down there!  but when he came back, leyton was a tiger.  : ) 

all the kids were given goody bags, and in those bags were nifty little poppers.  leyton's was a zebra.  so we played w/ it for a bit, and i got a really neat shot ... well, what do you think?  leyon really wanted gramma to WATCH it pop, so he gave her a little help in which way to look.  

see?  if he'd let her look away, she would have missed it!!  : )  

after a bit, leyton & i went back downstairs, while mom kept watch over our table/stuff.  there is a fun game of mini golf down there - not real mini golf, but a screen that has a mini golf course & then a real ball spits out & you hit it w/ a real club, and the computer knows where you hit it... no pictures because i brought my phone down to text w/ trish instead of my camera.  heh.  but that's okay!  we played the golf, some bee game, basketball, and skeeball, only there it's like fireball or something.  *laugh*  then we turned in his tickets for some trinkets & joined mom upstairs.  


leyton was given a clutch of balloons, which he was way excited about of course!  we put them in the way back of the car for the ride home.  here's what happened...

power of prayer

last night i, along w/ a bunch of other ppl i'm sure, prayed that the storms would break up before they reached us, and they did.  praise the Lord!!  :)

now i'm praying for this headache to go away, so if you could join me in that prayer, i would appreciate it!

work was good, managed to leave at 4:30 & got almost everything accomplished that i'd scheduled!  i moved vacations to tomorrow because the headache had just drained me all day, working on memorials & timecard issues.  oh, and some fun policy stuff!  : )  well, none of those would have drained me if the headache/shoulderache had stayed away!  bah.  i hate pain.

i managed to watch switched at birth, secret life, america's got talent, GH, and a few weird al videos, tho, so at least it didn't interfere w/ that!  ; ) of course, getting used to it is even more annoying, ya know?

all the shows were really good, too!  especially switched at birth, which is one of my new favorite shows!!

talked to mom for a bit about stuff goin' on, and talked about some more road trips.  oh, & also straightened out her phone issue w/ the Virgin Mobile call center.

dear virgin mobile, please consider offering an "other" option on your voice help line.  it should NOT take so long to get to a live adviser in order to get help on something!!!  i mean, i listened to all the options computer-guy gave.  none of them really suited what i was calling for, and so i said "operator."  then computer-guy gets all psuedo-nice & says, "great, now, so i can get you to the right adviser, what is your call about?" and repeats the SAME OPTIONS!  WTH??  if one of those options would have worked, i would have said those options!  and there's no out.  i hit 0 - he says the same thing.  and even after you say operator, and then something else, the computer still goes thru this list of questions.  ARGH!  so frustrating.  then, when i finally got to a person, she was great & very helpful & everything, but the beginning of the call wasn't great because i was so frustrated from computer-guy!

so, virgin mobile usa, just something to think about.  i've had my phone for many years, and i am usually very happy with your service.  my mom has had her phone for awhile, too, and is usually very happy w/ her service.  but all it takes is ONE too many times of being dissatisfied, and we can switch to tracfone or whatever WM's phone system is calling itself these days.

annnd.... what else?  i think that is about it!  gonna hit the hay & pray for safety & pain relief & that tomorrow is an awesome day.  : )  i forget what i have scheduled... oh, memorials.  i need to follow up w/ some areas who haven't ever gotten back to me - and the requests went out months ago!  gotta find out if there's a hold up or if they were sent out directly before being sent to me.  and if that was happening how to make sure it's not still happening... etc., etc... so, i'm gonna need a good night's sleep!!  : )

Winner! (Day O' Green) (lots of photos) (a novel)

well, hello there bloggy peeps!  how was your St Patrick's Day?  did you remember to wear green?  if not, did anyone pinch you?  did you grow up w/ the fear of forgetting to wear green & being pinched???  just me?  did i grow up w/ really mean ppl??  LOL  


of course, since green is my favorite color, i absolutely wore it today!  

anthony also wore green, but he was protesting having his picture taken.  still, i like this one!  : ) 

my office was actually a sea of green.  the boss even broke out an awesome green suit coat!  love it!  the other day someone brought in green cake balls (yum!) and today we had a pizza & dessert fundraiser for charity, and there were tons of green cookies & things!  : )  i ate an oatmeal raisin cookie, tho.  *laugh*  it was not green, thank God!  


not a lot going on at work other than that & being BUSY.  and productive - i am almost done w/ a couple of projects even!   just in time to get more photos & claims needing to be done, on top of everything else, and i was delivered a big stack of checks to mail out also.  wheee!!!!  love it!  got to chat w/ a couple really neat ppl about claim issues - i love when ppl are NICE even tho there are issues.  they were both really pleasant to talk to, and we got their problems solved fairly quickly.  : )  rock on!


i left at 5 to meet mom & the boys at steak & shake for some eats.  nom nom!  we started off not being impressed w/ our waiter, but he got into his stride & soon shined brightly!  he was so sweet - brought leyton an M&M's button.  

you can sorta see the button - and yes, he's playing w/ sugar on his plate.  

anthony got a new toy from his sister, so he was playing angry birds & some monkey game.  

the balloons were pretty cool when they blew up.  : )  


leyton & gramma had some nice huggy time going on!  

 right here, this look?  he looks like my cousin bub (aka bradley).  might be the curls.  or the expression.  or a combination of the two.  but when i saw it, i had to do a double-take - and i TOOK it!

then i fueled up chloe ($25 for 1/2 a tank, *gasp*) & ran over to jan's & came home & read People while watching Merlin w/ bret.  i also watched yesterday's GH (alexis/natasha & luke's friendship always makes me laugh.  julia graham i think is the name of the actress who plays alexis & she is hilarious & terrific!).  got some postcrossings from Brazil, Turkey & Canada.  : )  happy mail day!

and when i opened my blogger, i was greeted w/ this post from brooke, and a comment that she'd given me a versatile blogger award!  sweet!  (thanks, brooke!)  so, the dealio is i get to hand out 7 random facts about me.  woot!  you know i love random!  ; )  i'll try to make them things i haven't revealed before, but if you already know these things, congratulations, you're awesome!  ; )  okay, okay, you're awesome anyway because you take the time to read my little band of goofiness.  


so, here goes... 


#1 - i'm a lighter-challenged smoker.  i have to use electric lighters because i have never been able to master the "flicking of the bic."  
#2 - i have recently been slightly obsessively buying mini-emory boards.  they're too cute to pass up!
#3 - i've been consistently mistaken for somebody's mom since i was 14. (it's never fussed me.  i'm glad i have mom-like qualities!)  
#4 - giving up regular soda was easier than i thought it would be.
#5a - pencils creep me out.
#5b - so do clowns.
#6 - wearing safety glasses over my regular glasses makes me feel claustrophobic.
#7 - love being on the highest floor possible when staying in hotels.  : )  (only if there's a decent elevator - i wanna be healthy but i'm not climbing 50 flights of stairs!!)
